About the Journal
The Observatory of Cultural Diversity Journal is published by the Observatory of Cultural Diversity (ODC), a social organization and cultural center that is part of a research group that develops projects and actions for training, research and the dissemination of knowledge. The aim of the publication, which is published annually from 2025 onwards, is to bring together academic articles, reflective texts, critical reports of experiences, interviews, reviews and artistic works focused on the interdisciplinary field of the protection and promotion of cultural diversity, in its interfaces with cultural policies, cultural management, mediation processes, memory and heritage, education, health and the environment, among other related themes.
The ODC began its activities in 2005, the year in which UNESCO's 33rd General Conference voted on the Convention on the Protection and Promotion of the Diversity of Cultural Expressions. Working in the areas of training, information and knowledge production and consultancy, its aim is to contribute to the realization of cultural rights and the full exercise of cultural citizenship. In 2007, it began publishing content through the website www.observatoriodadiversidade.org.br and a Bulletin (ISSN: 2358-9175). In 2015 and 2016, in addition to the Bulletin, three issues of the magazine Observatory of Cultural Diversity (ISSN: 2526-7442) were launched. As of 2022, the two publications have been integrated into a single initiative.
